Mental health services:
Mental health services are an essential element of the health care services continuum. Mental health issues are frequently unrecognized and even when diagnosed are often not treated adequately. Screening and early identification of perinatal mood disorders as well as general women's mental health screening is endorsed by the American College of OBGYN (ACOG). Promotion of mental health and the diagnosis of mental illnesses are essential components of office medicine. OBGYNs and primary care physicians are integral to the early recognition and treatment of psychological problems.
Due to the public health risks of COVID-19, all visits are via secure teleconference.
I normally conduct an initial evaluation that will last from 2 to 3 sessions. During this time, we can both decide if I am the best person to provide the services you need in order to meet your treatment goals.
What to expect from the initial discussion of treatment plan:
Our first few sessions will involve an evaluation of your needs. By the end of this process, I will be able to offer you an initial assessment identifying the areas of focus for our work and an initial treatment plan. We will evaluate this information along with your comfort in working with me. You may also want to ask about other treatments for your condition and their risks and benefits. If you have questions about the process, we should discuss them whenever they arise.
Fees and payment:
Please contact me to discuss fees. I am an out-of network provider for all insurance companies and I charge on a fee-for-service basis. Payment is due at the time of the session. You may pay with check or credit card. On a monthly basis I provide my patients with a superbill suitable for submitting to your PPO for an out of network claim.
Once an appointment hour is scheduled, you will be expected to pay for it unless you provide advance notice of one week . If it is possible, I will try to find another time to reschedule your appointment. The full fee will be charged for missed sessions without sufficient notification.
I offer a unique service for pregnant women, couples and women who are postpartum. This may involve in depth conversations about coping with pregnancy expectations, medication use in pregnancy or adjustments to the new family member.
In addition, I offer consultation about medications and their safety during pregnancy and lactation. I will be able to consult with your other physicians, if you desire, to coordinate care for difficult pregnancies.
